The Marine Branch is for those members trained in open water (Lake Huron) and closed water (rivers and ponds) to conduct search and rescue for all water involved incidents.
With three vessels, HASAR is equipped for either environment it could operate in for the HASAR patrol area. 
HASAR is an official Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary detachment #556 and maintains two vessels and a fully immersive training simulator:
