Joining HASAR

Volunteers interested in HASAR are required to:
- Be a resident of Ontario;
- Be 18 years of age or older;
- Be able to pass a Vulnerable Record check;
- Want to help your community!

Search Team

HASAR's core function is that of Search. Searcher learn the basics and techniques of search and search tactics. Search members operate vehicles and are integral for Provincial deployments and disaster response.

Special Operations Rescue Team

SORT is made up of trained volunteers in NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue and Ice Rescue. Members are on call for Rescue related incidents and train extensively throughout the year.

Marine

Marine members are trained through the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary as HASAR is Unit 556. Marine members train on our two large CCGA vessels and two smaller boats as well. 

Community Engagement 

A mix of active volunteers and those whose skills are public events and fundraising, this group focuses on education and engagement in the community!
