PeopleHASAR's most important asset is it's people. The volunteers of HASAR are instrumental in the continued success of this organization and are part of the very make up of the community they serve.
HASAR members are trained in the following:
- Standard First Aid - IMS 100 - Swiftwater Awareness - Basic Search and Rescue Advanced TrainingThrough experience and additional training, HASAR members can be trained in:
- AdventureSmart - Technical Rope Rescue - Swiftwater Rescue - Ice Rescue - Canine |
EquipmentHASAR utilizes specialized and modified equipment to achieve its goals through Search and Rescue. This gear has been donated in many cases and is instrumental in the life-saving role of our volunteers to keep both them and the community safe.
UniformsHASAR volunteers wear a distinct uniform for both rugged protection in the field and to maintain a professional image at all callouts. The uniforms bear the member's name, position and specializations, where applicable. The right arm patch and t-shirt are coloured based on the volunteers position within the ICS format.
