Operations Branch
The Field Operations Branch is the backbone of HASAR. Searchers, Rescue Specialists and Incident Commanders make up the Branch with specialized training in both Search and Rescue.
Field Operations members are the volunteers of HASAR who truly are the heart of the organization and are the first to answer the call.
The Operations Branch is headed by:

Search SectionIncident Supervisor - Search: Courtney Courtnage
The Search Section is responsible for deployments for missing or lost persons under the direction of Police. Searchers are trained through OSARVA/SARVAC in Basic Search and Rescue, IMS 100 and Standard First Aid.

Rescue SectionIncident Supervisor - Rescue: Jeff Fitchett
The Rescue Section is comprised of members of HASAR trained in advanced skills which include: - Canine - Rope Rescue, Swiftwater Rescue, Ice Rescue Those trained in Rope Rescue and above are part of the Special Operations Rescue Team, or SORT.
