The Incident Commander is the head of a Search and Rescue operation or deployment for HASAR. They are the primary liaison with the contacting agency (Police, Fire, etc) and are responsible for the mission. The IC utilizes the D4H Incident Management software and co-ordinates all teams under HASAR's umbrella.
The Planning Officer is the assistant to the IC at a Search and Rescue operation or deployment for HASAR. They are the liaison with the Team Leaders and are responsible for the people.
Rescue Incident Officer
The Rescue Incident Officer is the head of a Rescue Team and reports directly to the Incident Commander when both are deployed. In a Technical Rope Rescue deployment, the RIO works with the Rescue Safety Officer to ensure all HASAR members are safe and the mission is accomplished.
